Psychological Testing & Evaluations in Kansas City, Missouri
Hutchinson & Associates offers a wide range of psychological and neuropsychological assessments that can be applied in clinical, forensic, employment, and personal settings. Psychological testing is often the most useful and effective way to understand certain kinds of issues — providing clarity, direction, and actionable information that therapy or a brief clinical interview alone cannot deliver.
We work with individuals, families, physicians, employers, attorneys, and schools to provide thorough, professionally interpreted evaluations.

The Testing Process
Step 1 — Intake & Consultation
An initial interview gathers your history, the referral question, and the context for testing. This helps us select the most appropriate battery of tests.
Step 2 — Testing Session(s)
Testing typically takes 2–5 hours depending on what is being assessed. Short breaks are provided. Some evaluations require more than one session.
Step 3 — Scoring & Interpretation
Your clinician scores and interprets all test results in the context of your history and the referral question.
Step 4 — Report & Feedback
A comprehensive written report is provided, and a feedback session is scheduled to review the findings and answer your questions.
Insurance Coverage for Testing
Medicare and most major insurance providers cover neuropsychological and cognitive testing with a physician's referral. Coverage for other types of psychological testing varies by plan. Our business office can help you understand your coverage before scheduling.
How long does psychological testing take?
Depending on the type and scope of the evaluation, testing can take between 2 and 8 hours total. Some evaluations may be split across two sessions.
What does a psychological evaluation report include?
Reports include a summary of background history, a description of the tests administered, test results and interpretation, a diagnostic impression, and specific recommendations for treatment, accommodations, or follow-up.
